International Conference on Illicit Tobacco Trade
This supplemental meeting to the negotiations for the Framework Convention on Tobacco Control will deliver a report to the FCTC Intergovernmental Negotiating Body that will reflect the views expressed at the conference, measures or "best practices" considered to be effective in combating illicit tobacco trade, and appropriate definitions for inclusion in the main body of the FCTC or in a protocol to the FCTC.

18th UICC International Cancer Congress
The meeting will reflect the principal goal of the International Union Against Cancer (UICC): to focus on cancer as a global challenge with the aim of decreasing its incidence, mortality and the suffering of cancer patients and their families. It will attempt to summarise recent scientific findings and evaluate the outcome of cancer control activities over the past four years with the objective to project effective control strategies for the next quadrennium.

The goal of the 3ECTOH is to mobilise Europeans to improve health through tobacco control. This will be impossible without closing the gaps in health and tobacco control policies in Europe. What we need, besides broad implementation of comprehensive tobacco control policies and smoking cessation programs throughout Europe, is European solidarity for health.
