John Schachter
The Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids is deeply saddened by the death of John Schachter, a beloved friend and colleague who was our Senior Director for Advocacy Communications. We remember John as a gifted comedian, long-suffering Mets fan, and much-loved husband, father, son and friend. He was a talented communications strategist and tobacco control advocate who played a critical role in many important victories in the fight against tobacco, helping to protect our nation’s children from tobacco addiction and save lives.
John is survived by his wife Lori Klein, son Sam, and his mother Ann. He was predeceased by his father, Stanley Schachter, and his sister, Debra Schachter. We send our deepest condolences to John’s family and are grateful for all donations in his memory.
