YOUTH ADVOCATES OF THE YEAR AWARDS GALA

A Message About Our 2020 Youth Advocates of the Year Awards Gala:

As the outbreak of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) continues to spread throughout the U.S. and globally and after close consultation with our Board of Directors, we have postponed our 2020 Youth Advocates of the Year Awards Gala scheduled for May 13, 2020.

Instead, as we all grapple with the coronavirus pandemic and its implications, we have decided to honor and recognize this year’s deserving honorees through a virtual event to take place this fall.

During these times of uncertainty, we are incredibly appreciative of all our supporters and partners for working with us as we develop alternative plans. We also want to express our gratitude to all who are fighting the spread of the coronavirus and treating those affected by it.

We are acutely sensitive to the extreme hardship that so many are enduring right now, especially those most in need. We as an organization are both looking for ways to give back to our communities and at the same time are thankful to be able to work on an issue of such importance. COVID-19 attacks our lungs. Smoking puts individuals at greater risk of suffering the severe consequences of COVID-19, and there is growing concern that vaping does so as well. During this crisis, the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids remains resolute in our mission of reducing tobacco’s devastating toll in the United States and around the world.

Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to sharing more information about our revised plans for honoring the accomplishments of outstanding young leaders and tobacco control champions making a difference in the United States and around the world.
