Countdown to Kick Butts Day 2013
December 15, 2012
Youth across America will stand up to Big Tobacco on Kick Butts Day, March 20, 2013.
With less than 100 days to go until the 18th annual Kick Butts Day, we’ve launched a revamped website to make it easier than ever to participate this year.
The new website shows organizers how to plan and register their events — and apply for a grant.
Here are the key steps:
- Step 1 – Plan Your Event: Organizers can find event ideas by searching the new Kick Butts Day Activities Database, which provides a quick way to find event ideas based on the age range of participants, cost and time involved. The online database will be updated with new activities throughout the Kick Butts Day season.
- Step 2 – Register Your Event: Once you've decided on a Kick Butts Day event, tell us about it by registering it online. Then we can help promote your event and add it to an interactive map of events across the country.
- Step 3 – Apply for a Grant: With support from the United Health Foundation, we are offering mini-grants of up to $500. You must register your event and complete a mini-grant application by January 15, 2013.
Kick Butts Day is a national day of activism that empowers youth to stand out, speak up and seize control against Big Tobacco. We're expecting more than 1,000 events in schools and communities across the United States and even around the world.
Established in 1996, Kick Butts Day is organized by the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids and sponsored by the United Health Foundation.
