Kids in Washington, D.C. 'Kick Butts' on April 14

Washington, DC - TOBACCO-FREE KIDS and Area Youngsters Celebrate 4th Annual Kick Butts Day; D.C. event one of more than 1,000 nationwide-- On Wednesday, April 14, U.S. Secretary of Education Richard W. Riley and Secretary of Health and Human Services Donna Shalala will join 200 area kids as they show their spirit in the fight against tobacco. 'The Bird' from the Baltimore Orioles, local anti-tobacco rap musicians and others will lead the group in an energetic pep rally. Also, a local youth in the forefront of the tobacco control movement will present Secretaries Riley and Shalala with the results of a new survey on teens' attitudes about tobacco conducted by the CAMPAIGN. Kick Butts Day is an annual, nationwide initiative developed to encourage anti-tobacco leadership and activism among youth. This year, more than 1,000 events will be held in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, Japan and Guam. WHAT: Kick Butts Day WHO: U.S. Secretary of Education Richard W.
